Also referred to as English Peas or Snow Peas these delightful little green balls are fantastic served fresh! When softened there is no reason not to give older babies and toddlers peas as a finger food. Chasing them around their tray will improve there hand eye coordination and keep them busy for quite a while, without a huge mess. Such a healthy alternative to cereal or grocery store corn puffs. My mother used to give us frozen peas to snack on, and I still remember loving them!
For younger babies it may prove helpful to blend these into a puree. Lucky for us this is an extremely easy process. Peas cook quick and if you are lucky enough to find them shelled, as I did, this whole process takes about 30 minutes!
Peas make a light and delicious snack for baby!
12 oz Peas Fresh is preferred but frozen works
1 tbsp Butter or Earth balance optional
3/4 cup water
1- Place Peas and water in a small pan.
2- Add the tablespoon of butter or Earth Balance and boil for 20 minutes.
3- Once tender, blend the peas and the water. Transfer to your Kiinde Twist bags using the Foodii system and freeze for up to 3 months!
